For now, here are a few highlights from the past several months:

Both of the images above are from last October (!) while I was on my Fall Break in Birmingham. I met up with some friends at Rojo, and my pal Sarah was doing her laundry while we ate lunch. The first image is what we found in the Laundromat. Uh, yikes. The rest of my time in BHM was a great experience--I found a photo of Billy Ray Cyrus in a birdcage on the back porch of Bottletree, saw The Octopus Project and got to spend time with my lovely friend Christen. Since then, I've been back to the 'ham several times and spent time with Track Boy, went to motorcycle races with Christen, revisited the Progressive Farmer offices and longed to move back to the South for longer than just a few months.

My sister, Amanda, played in the state volleyball tournament last fall and got a nosebleed during the last game the team played. Evidently, I've been fascinated by nosebleeds for even longer than I'd realized.

On my 21st birthday, my friend Clay set up a photo booth in my house to capture some fun moments during the party. Best. Gift. Ever.

Toward the end of last fall semester, I found out I would be interning at Paste magazine in Decatur, Ga., during the spring semester, so Christen flew up to Lincoln for a few days to hang out before we drove together from Lincoln to Birmingham over Winter Break. Above is a self-portrait that was shot at the public library in Indianapolis, which was one of our stops along the way. Below that is a picture from a New Year's party in Birmingham, where I bumped into a girl who told me she realized she looked like Peggy Bundy only after she was all dressed and ready to go out for the night. Loves it.

After finally making it to Georgia for my internship, I had so many lovely experiences. How can a person get bored while hanging out with camera-aware friends at the intern house, spotting a strange potato in the kitchen of the workplace, experiencing snow in the South and snapping portraits of a gentleman from Northern Ireland over lunch breaks?

SXSW was great. I got to hang out with Dave and go to Perez Hilton's party.

Savannah was beautiful--all Spanish moss and old headstones and lovely architecture and art everywhere. Also, I accidentally reunited with one of my kindergarten classmates in Savannah. Who would have thought we'd have to travel all the way to Georgia, years later, to see each other again?

I met one of my absolute favorite musicians, Tony Dekker, while he was in Decatur.

I <3 the Winterns! :-)
Uh, this post has gotten out of control. I guess I'll continue later?
